In the busy streets of Baltimore, winter can be particularly dangerous. Adding to the risk is the limited experience that most residents have driving on icy streets.
Unfortunately, the cold and snow have already caused a lot of injuries this year. From auto accidents to slip-and-falls, there are plenty of hazards that people must avoid to stay safe. If you or a loved one has been injured in an auto accident or slipped on an unsalted storefront, you might be entitled to compensation to pay for hospital bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.

An Unexpected Snow System Caused Many Of The Personal Injuries
This recent weather system was predicted to affect the Northeast and Midwest. At first, it appeared that the east coast wouldn’t see much damage, but after 11 inches of snow fell on Maryland, unprepared drivers and pedestrians were caught off-guard.
Schools and flights were cancelled, and the roadways were disastrous. According to the Baltimore Sun, regional temperatures fell below zero.
Assistant County Chief Scott Graham stated that in one day, the storm caused at least 80 calls that involved personal-injury collisions. Some injuries were traumatic, and cars were overturned.
The weather system also caused at least one death in Maryland. Just north of Baltimore, a car driver fishtailed in front of a tractor-trailer. Also, law enforcement officials said that the snow may have caused a two-vehicle collision that took the lives of two more people.
January Car Accidents Bring February Lawsuits
Filing a personal-injury claim can be a smart decision if you’ve been injured in a car accident that wasn’t your fault. Hospital bills and time away from work can add up. If you wait too long, certain evidence or witnesses might not be available, which could reduce the chances of a favorable outcome.
A personal-injury lawsuit also prevents the same accident from happening to another person. Oftentimes, these cases lead to changes in safety standards that save lives.
At Duboff & Associates, we have the experience to guide you through the legal process. Facing court alone can be confusing, time-consuming and overwhelming, especially if the other party denies your claim. Hiring an experienced personal-injury attorney will give you the best chance of success.
